Opened in 1830, it is one of the oldest schools in Ireland, located off Upper Gardiner Street, in the heart of Dublin. Discover more about our history here.
There are 403 children enrolled in our bustling school with 37 teachers, including a full-time Home School Community Liaison Teacher (read more about the role of the HSCLT here), 6 Special Needs Assistants, 2 secretaries, 2 cleaners, a caretaker and a principal.
We believe firmly in the holistic development of each child. Our participation in the City Connects Programme means we can offer all of our students the opportunity to explore and develop their unique set of interests and talents.
Gardiner Street Primary School welcomes and encourages the co-operation and involvement of parents and guardians in the education of their children and acknowledges the significant benefits of effective partnership between school, home and Board of Management.
